How do I show radio numbers instead of initials on the Dispatch map?

The Call signs setting controls how each on-shift staff member is labelled on the Dispatch map. Managers choose the setting once for the whole resort. Dispatchers then see either each person's initials or each person's radio number in their map marker and in the staff list.

Before you begin

  • You need the Manager role to change the Call signs setting. Resort Settings is hidden for other roles.
  • The Call signs setting applies to the whole resort. Every dispatcher at your resort sees the same labels.
  • Radio numbers come from Sign On. A staff member's radio number only appears on the Dispatch map if they entered one when they signed on. See How do I sign on and off for my shift?

What is the difference between "By name" and "By radio number"?

The Call signs setting has two options:

Option What the Dispatch map shows for each on-shift staff member
By name The person's initials (for example, JD for Jane Doe). This is the default for new resorts.
By radio number The person's radio number (for example, 14).

The Call signs setting changes the label in two places on the Dispatch map:

  • Map markers — the round, coloured badge for each on-shift staff member on the map.
  • Staff list avatars — the round badge next to each name in the staff list in the Layers sidebar.

The person's first name is always shown under their map marker, whichever option you choose.

Note: With By radio number selected, a staff member who signed on without a radio number is shown with their initials instead.

How do I change the Call signs setting?

  1. In the left menu, go to Settings > Resort Settings.
  2. In the settings menu, click Dispatch map.
  3. Under Call signs, click By name or By radio number.
  4. Click Save changes in the top right.

How does the Call signs setting change Sign On?

The Call signs setting also controls whether staff are asked for a radio number when they sign on:

  • By radio number — the Sign On form shows a Radio Number field, and staff must enter their radio number to sign on.
  • By name — the Sign On form hides the Radio Number field. Staff sign on without a radio number.

The Call signs setting applies to both the Sign On option in the dashboard menu and shared sign-on devices. See How do I set up a shared Sign On device?

Frequently asked

Can I search for a staff member by radio number on the Dispatch map?

Yes. The search box at the top of the Layers sidebar on the Dispatch map matches staff by name or by radio number.

Why does a staff member show initials when the resort uses radio numbers?

A staff member shows initials on the Dispatch map when the resort uses By radio number but that person has no radio number recorded on their current shift. Ask the person to sign off and sign on again with their radio number.

Do team markers show radio numbers?

Yes. If your resort uses team grouping on the Dispatch map, clicking a team marker opens a member list that always shows each member's radio number, whichever Call signs option is selected. A member with no radio number is shown with a dash (—).
