What happens when I sign out of the Medic52 mobile app?

Signing out of the Medic52 mobile app removes all Medic52 data from your phone: cached incidents, saved forms, photos waiting to upload, and any changes that haven't synced. Nothing on the server is affected. Your incidents are still on Medic52 and will download again the next time you sign in.

This keeps patient information off phones that are shared, handed back, or lost.

What if I have changes that haven't uploaded?

If anything you entered is still on your phone and not yet on the server, the app warns you before signing out:

Sign out and lose unsynced changes? 1 change hasn't uploaded and will be lost. Signing out removes all incident data from this device.

You then have three options:

  • Review changes shows the list of changes that haven't uploaded yet, with the incident, resort, and reason for each one. This is usually the best choice.
  • Sign out anyway signs you out and permanently deletes those changes. They can't be recovered.
  • Cancel keeps you signed in.

If you can, get back into coverage and let the changes upload before you sign out. The warning disappears once everything has synced.

How do I sign out?

  1. Open the Profile tab.
  2. Tap Sign out.
  3. If the warning appears, choose one of the options above.

What about signing in as someone else on the same phone?

If a different person signs in on the phone, the app first removes the previous person's data. One person's incidents and unsynced changes are never visible to the next person.

If the app signs me out on its own

Sometimes the app signs you out because your session expired or your password changed. When this happens, your unsynced changes are kept on the phone. Sign back in with the same account and they upload as normal.
