Troubleshoot Printing Issues

This article will give you some tips about how to get your cases printed to paper via a printer. Often printing issue’s are related to device/computer configuration not with Medic52.

Background: When you hit print on the device, the system generates, and displays/downloads a PDF. Because different devices and web browsers are configured to the user preferences, sometimes the file may not be displayed immediately and downloaded to a location on the device.

General: Your printer should be connected to your WiFi network, and you should complete the configuration steps in the user manual. Print a test page from the web, or an email to make sure you have the correct settings.

iOS Devices

Note you cannot currently access the PDF using the web app in Safari on iOS.

After hitting print the PDF output will be displayed on screen. Once open you can hit the menu item to show options and then print. iOS will by default use AirPrint to look for a printer.

To allow this to work you must have an AirPrint enabled printer on the same WiFi network as your device.

Android

After hitting print the PDF output will be displayed on screen. Once open you can hit the menu item to show options and then print. Android will by default use Google Cloud Print to look for a printer, as well as those it can find on the local WiFi network.

To allow this to work you must have a Cloud Print enabled printer configured on your device. Note that you can print from 3G/4G and do not need to be on the same WiFi network.

Windows PC users may need a PDF reader such as Adobe Acrobat Reader to be able to view the files.

Chrome: Window > Downloads

Firefox: Tools > Downloads

Chrome & Firefox users will be able to click the download and it will be viewable in a new browser tab. From here you can use the built in browser tools to open the print options.
