Troubleshoot Printing Issues

When you hit print in Medic52, the system generates a PDF and opens or downloads it. You then print that PDF using your browser or device. Most printing problems come from local device, browser, or printer configuration rather than from Medic52 itself.

General checklist:

  • Make sure your printer is switched on and connected to the same network as your device.
  • Complete any setup steps in your printer’s manual, and print a test page (from a web page or an email) to confirm the printer works.
  • If the PDF does not appear straight away, check your browser’s Downloads area — it may have downloaded rather than opened.

Web browser

Printing from the web platform generates a PDF. Depending on your browser settings it will either open in a new tab or download to your computer.

  • Chrome: the download appears in the toolbar and in ⋮ menu → Downloads.
  • Firefox: ☰ menu → Downloads.
  • Edge: the download appears in the toolbar and in … menu → Downloads.
  • Safari (macOS): downloads appear in the Downloads button near the top-right of the toolbar.

Open the PDF, then use your browser’s print option (or Ctrl / Cmd + P) to send it to your printer.

iPhone and iPad (iOS / iPadOS)

After you print, the PDF is displayed on screen. Open the share or menu option and choose Print. iOS uses AirPrint to find printers on your network.

To use AirPrint you need an AirPrint-enabled printer on the same Wi-Fi network as your device. Apple keeps a list of AirPrint printers.

Android

After you print, the PDF is displayed on screen. Open the menu and choose Print. Android’s built-in print service will find compatible printers on your network, and many printer manufacturers offer their own print plug-in from the Google Play Store if your printer needs one.

Still stuck?

If the PDF generates correctly but won’t print, the issue is almost always with the printer or device setup. If the PDF itself won’t generate, contact support with a description of what you see.
