How to Screenshot

If you are having an issue with Medic52, and are in contact with our support team, we may ask you to provide a screenshot of what you are seeing in order to help us detect the exact issue you are having.

This article shows you how to take a screenshot on various devices.

Take a screenshot on Android

For the vast majority of Android phones and tablets, to take a screenshot you simply press and hold the power and volume-down buttons together. There is a slight knack to this action: press the power button too soon and the display will switch off; press the volume-down button too soon and your screenshot may be marred by an onscreen volume slider. After a few seconds the screen will flash and a notification will appear in the drop-down bar at the top of the screen, giving you options to delete, share or edit the image. You can also access the screenshot from your Gallery.

If your device has a physical home button, as is the case with the Samsung Galaxy S6, you may find there is a different method for taking a screenshot. On the Galaxy S6 you press and hold the power and home buttons together. Source: PC Advisor.co.uk

Take a screenshot on iPad/ iPhone

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top or side of your device. Immediately press and release the Home button. The device will click and the screen flash white for a moment indicating the screenshot has been taken. To find your screenshot, go to the Photos app > Albums and tap Camera Roll. Source: Apple.com

Take a screenshot in Windows Vista and Windows 7

Windows Vista and Windows 7 users can utilize the Snipping Tool. This feature is available on all versions of Windows, with the exception of Starter and Basic editions, and Windows XP.

To open the program, click the Start button, select All Programs, followed by Accessories, and select the Snipping tool from the list. The Snipping tool lets you take a screenshot of a specific area of the screen (similar to the OS X command with the Command, Shift, and number 4 keys). Open the program, click New, select the area of the screen you would like to capture, and then click Save.

Take a screenshot in Windows 10 and Windows 8

Users with a Windows 10 or Windows 8 machine have the added ability to take screenshots that automatically save to a special folder. Pressing both the Windows and Print Screen key at the same time will capture the entire screen. This image will automatically be saved to a Screenshot folder inside of the Pictures library.

The Print Screen methods from Windows XP and the Snipping tool can also be utilized in Windows 10 and Windows 8. You can search for the Snipping Tool on the Start screen in Windows 8 or in the search field next to the Start button in Windows 10.

Take a screenshot in MacOS

On the Macintosh use your keyboard to hit Command + Shift + 4 at the same time. Your cursor will change to a cross hair and you can now drag and drop over an area of the screen. When you release your mouse it will save to your Desktop with a filename like Screenshot 21-12-2018.png
